Natalie Ford:

A little bit more information about Natalie in her own words:

My name is Natalie Ford, I am 21 years old. I live in Gorleston with my partner Ryan. In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym and taking my dog Pepsi out for walks. I am also a keen cellist.

After school & Sixth form I went on to higher education at the City Collage, Norwich studying an HND in Media Studies. During college I took part in the work experience scheme at Anglia Television. This led to part-time work as a runner for ‘Daytime’ productions. Once I graduated college I was offered a full time position as Production Co-ordinator. In this role I worked on the Trisha Show, Jerry Springer Show and the early editions of the Jeremy Kyle Show. Although a fantastic opportunity, the long hours required in the TV industry got the better of me hence the career change.

I now work for my family. My mother Sharon is a partner in the business. The Co-ordinating skills I gained in my previous work have proved vital in my new role as a trainee Funeral Director. As part of my training I am studying towards the Funeral Service Foundation Certificate and Diploma.

Justin

Justin Williams:

A little bit more information about Justin in his own words:

Hi, my name is Justin Williams and I live in Norwich with my wife Rachael and our two children, Francesca and Kaelim.

Before I entered the funeral trade I worked at Van-Dal shoes in both the Booking Out Section and dealing with reject shoes. After working there for five years I decided that it was time for a career change. I decided to go back to collage and take a course in computer studies, so I asked my father, who works at St Faiths Crematorium, to ask around to see if there was any part-time positions available locally in the funeral trade. I thought part-time work would help me through college. Paul (Allcock), who I already knew from my local football days at Thorpe Village, was the manager of Peter Taylor's funeral services at the time and he offered me a part-time position as a funeral bearer. Within a month Paul had offered me full-time employment with Taylor's. This meant giving up my computer studies but nevertheless I accepted his offer and started work at Taylor's in 1999 and worked there for another five years. Paul left Taylor's within a year of my starting full time to set up Allcock Family Funeral Services. It was some four years later that he invited me to join the company. Since then I have worked my way up to the position of workshop manager at Allcocks, and have recently enrolled on the NAFD Foundation Certificate in Funeral Services.

Although I am not a member of the Allcock family, since joining their firm they have made me feel very much at home.
